I stopped by the Dawn Treader Book Shop (a used bookstore with an excellent genre collection) on my way home from work on Friday in hopes of finding an old copy of We Have Always Lived in the Castle. I filed her under 'authors to read one day' and then, quite unexpectedly, stumbled across a copy of her most famous novella, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, in my local charity shop. We Have Always Lived in the Castle is set in 1960s New England, although it could almost be transplanted to early 20th century England (or even earlier). Right now, it's We Have Always Lived in the Castle. It was the perfect atmosphere for the book.
